FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is this really free?

Yes. Generating a report costs nothing and requires no sign-up. Bravado makes money on the trading terminal, not on tax reports.

Do I need to connect my wallet?

No. Paste any Polymarket wallet address — the report is built entirely from public on-chain data on Polygon. We never ask for signatures, private keys, or exchange logins.

Am I only taxed on what I withdraw?

No — this is the most common misconception. Selling shares or having a market resolve is the taxable event, even if the money never leaves Polymarket. Withdrawals are just transfers, so they are not part of your gain or loss. For most wallets the report does not compute deposits and withdrawals by year; it says “not computed” rather than showing a zero.

What cost basis method do you use?

Lots are matched first-in-first-out (FIFO), the most common default for US filers. Fees are already inside the proceeds and cost basis, so the “Fees” figure is a memo and is never deducted a second time. For most wallets the report cannot tell short-term from long-term yet, because the trading engine records no acquisition date per lot: those lines show the acquired date and term as UNKNOWN, and the report says so instead of guessing.

What can I download?

A PDF report for your records and a CSV with every disposition line, shaped to map onto Form 8949 and import into common tax software. Collecting the cash from a position that already resolved (a redemption) is a cash event, not a sale, so it is shown as “redemption cash” rather than as a line. Exports are shipping soon — leave your email on the download button and we’ll send your report the moment they go live.

Is this tax advice?

No. The report is informational and gives you and your accountant accurate data to work from. Consult a qualified tax professional before filing.
